This is my first simple cache hide. This 3.3 hectare wetland area you can view from this location is a water retarding basin that acts as a natural filter in reducing sediment, nitrogen and other nutrients in storm water as well as providing flood protection further downstream. I’ve been living around this area since 2000 and have never seen this overflow even when we had the flooding downpours in 2007.
Walking and bike paths also run through here which I use a lot.
