The cache is atop a small volcano with splendid views of the volcanoes of the Crater Route and two of the quarries near Corralejo.

Oh dear, I decided to set this cache atop a small volcano of the Crater Route as an easier alternative to the higher volcanoes nearby. It was supposed to be a nice walk with scenic views and a small climb. How wrong it turned out to be.
The walk turned out to be horrible with a near malpais rock covering all along the route to the base of the volcano. The climb up the volcano is equally horrible, it is steep and covered in small rocks and gravel, even the small amount of bedrock turned out not to be bedrock at times. You need to be especially careful during the descent
Do not underestimate the hazards of this cache especially if there is a covering of greenery underfoot.
Nevertheless it is a good challenge and the views are wonderful.
It is not recommended for young children and older children need to be supervised, walking shoes are strongly recommended.
The journey from Corralejo can be made on foot or by car ( a 4x4 is not necessary).
It is difficult to find the start of the road from Corralejo, known as the crater route, so here's how to find it.
Ask locally for the CD Corralejo football ground.
From there head to the Estrella del Norte roundabout (wth the sailing boat sculpture).
From there head towards the quarry with the white guard's box in front.
By the pylon turn right onto the unmade road of an unbuilt housing development (no houses).
Go along the road (very bumpy) until you see, higher up on your left, a large square white building.
Turn left onto the road that runs beside it, initially it is steep and very rough but quickly improves.
Just keep going along this road to the parking place.
The views as you travel along this road are superb.
My usual warning is especially appropriate for this cache. As with all walking in Fuerteventura, because of the rocky terrain, ALWAYS look where you place your feet, if you wish to admire the scenery, stop walking and plant your feet securely.
