The cache is atop a medium sized volcano with splendid views of the mountains near to El Cotillo.
Climbing this volcano is relatively straightforward provided you take the recommended trailhead.
It is tempting to go directly up the volcano from the parking area. If you do you will find it is very steep with poor terrain underfoot, making it unsuitable for all but older children. There are many rocks and even some bedrock is unstable.
However at the back of the volcano is a gully which provides plenty of bedrock and brings you to the saddle between the two peaks. Taking this route it becomes suitable for all but the youngest children.
Walking shoes are recommended but taking the gully route, stoutly soled trainers are suitable.
As with all walking in Fuerteventura, because of the rocky terrain, ALWAYS look where you place your feet, if you wish to admire the scenery, stop walking and plant your feet securely.
There are limited places to hide the cache, please replace the lid securely and ensure that the cache is well hidden.
