Geocache Description:

Take a drive to Diamond Lake. It is about 15 km north of Glenorchy, the first 8 km is a sealed road and the last 7 km is unsealed. As you enter the Mt Aspiring National Park the scenery changes from rolling farmland to beech forest. Parts of this area were used for some of the Middle Earth locations such as Lothlorien, Amon Hen, Orthanc and Isengard. There is an overnight camping area at the lake although there are no facilities available. The lake is suitable for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Watch the sandflies though, you would be wise to bring insect repellant!

The cache is a small container with no room with swaps. Please replace carefully and keep an eye out for muggles as the road can be busy at times.
