Geocache Description:

MACHICO, the county has dominance of middle slopes, with one notable exception - the valley of Machico (where the slopes are gentle to moderate), formed by two mountain ranges, the East Peak of the Torch, the plateau west of Burnt, (where the slopes are gentle to moderate). Still to highlight two areas where the slope eases being moderated considerably south of Porto Cross (in the basin of the Ribeira do Juncal) and in the area of reed beds (especially in the basin of the Ribeira da Palmeira).

There are differences between the coast and the interior of the county: the coastal climate is warmer and drier, and the land barren and wild, as it moves inland the climate becomes cooler and moist and proliferates avegetação.

Despite being essentially an area of coast, bathed north, east and south by the Atlantic Ocean, its morphology is marked by several hills and mountains, among others that of Brown (589 m) at the Mason (792 m) , Crown Peak (738 m) and Penha Eagle (590 m).
