Well Read Series #010 Havant Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

mellers: I went to check on the cache at GZ today, and I'm afraid to say that it has disappeared. I checked all around the host on the ground just in case it had fallen but it was nowhere to be seen. This suggests that it's been deliberately removed rather than just become accidentally detached.

As this hiding place has been compromised, to keep this puzzle cache going it would be necessary for me to re-work the puzzle (again) to place it somewhere else. I did say if I had to do that a fourth time, I wouldn't, as it gets too irritating for solvers to have to keep re-solving it each time. And I'm nothing if not a woman of my word.

It is therefore with some regret that I am going to archive this puzzle. It's had a good innings and many finders over the years but its time has now come. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

A nano cache in a series that will take you around libraries in your local area and further afield. The container is not at the posted co-ordinates.

Solve this simple library-related puzzle to find out where it is. It's not necessary to visit the library to solve the puzzle or to collect the cache, but the reference section IS one place where visiting might help you with ideas...

Havant Library itself, is now tucked away opposite the bus station, on the 1st floor of the Meridian Shopping Centre at the placeholder co-ordinates. It was however, formerly located on the corner of North Street and Elm Lane, before the construction of the Mall in the 1990s, and was coincidentally the place where the Captain of 'Team mellers' had her first Saturday job! No computers in those days though. Nowadays, libraries are useful for more than just borrowing books. After you've found the cache, you could even pop in for free internet access to log your find! Free parking in Havant can be elusive so find out where you can park from the geochecker, when you've solved the puzzle.

***Update 22 November 2013*** The final location of the cache has been amended. Any cachers who had solved the puzzle prior to this date will need to re-work their calculations. This should be fairly straightforward, but I will be happy to help anyone who needs assistance.

***Further update 09 January 2014*** I discovered yesterday that this cache has gone missing YET AGAIN. As this location has also been compromised, I have unfortunately had to move the final cache and re-work the puzzle again. I apologise to anyone who has solved the puzzle (and especially those who have had to solve it more than once). This is obviously a more mugglesome location than I expected.
If this cache container disappears yet again, it is unlikely that I will re-work the puzzle a further time as I imagine this will get irritating for those of you who have to keep re-solving it. Next time it goes, I'll probably archive it. As before, anyone who would like some assistance in re-solving the puzzle should get in touch with me via my profile.
