Geocache Description:

As I have geocached around Vermont, I have seen old school houses that have been put to new uses.  Places where our grandparents, great-grandparents and older ancestors were educated. In 1890, there were 28 separate schools in the Town of Northfield; now there are 2.  This schoolhouse, which had students until 1956, is one of the survivors.

The railroad bridge was the scene of a terrible event in 1867.  The timber bridge at this site had burned and was being rebuilt.  Returning from lunch in town, the train bringing them failed to stop in time and thecar with the crew fell into the river.

DON'T PARK ON 12A OR IN PRIVATE DRIVEWAYS;  PARK ON BULL RUN ROAD.
