Geocache Description:

In honor of my #1000 find, I wanted to pay tribute to my #1 find - Mellow Yellow (GC1HNVG). That cache is now archived, but the original spot is dangerous to park, and to walk to, so I found a nearby spot I like better. Thanks to RandomCitrus for my #1, and for providing the hints I needed at the time to find it!

This area was formerly a Grand Union store, I remember going there as a kid with my Mom. Other than the new Parking Garage, it’s now the only lot in town where you can park 50 minutes for a quarter, everywhere else is only 20 minutes. (the FTF can park for 3.33 hours!)

And lest you think it’s just another boring parking lot P&G (well, Ok, it is) there are some interesting aspects. You will get a nice view overlooking Main Street, and there is a great mural on what was the back wall of the Grand Union.

“In June of 2012, the former graffiti-covered wall was transformed into a community space to publicly commemorate the 30-year struggle of the AIDS crisis in this country. Designed by Ken Schneck, the Concrete Quilt was based on the nationally known AIDS Memorial Quilt, and proceeds from the ‘sale’ of quilt squares went to the local AIDS Project.” (visit link)

Cache contains FTF prize, logsheet, & pencil. Please Use Stealth!
