Bachelor of Geocaching Challenge B.GC (Australia) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Trigger_Fish: I am archiving this one. It has gone missing and been replaced a couple of times and the area seems to be being used as a dump by local low lifes. I had hoped to add to this series but the changing GC.com rules regarding challenge caches put an end to that.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This is a challenge cache. The final cache container is at the listed co-ordinates, however, you are not allowed to visit the final cache and log the logbook until you've met the challenge requirements.

As is typical of many mystery or unknown caches, the D/T rating reflect the challenge and not the final cache location. The final cache would be listed as D1.5 / T1.5.

The first step of this challenge is to graduate from school.

You can do this 'with equivalency' by completing the special entry exam as follows;
Find and Log caches with each of the 9 difficulty ratings (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.4, 4, 4.5 and 5). => that's 9 different caches.

Find and Log caches with each of the 9 terrain ratings (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.4, 4, 4.5 and 5). => that's 9 other caches.

Some of you will note that cachers who have completed my Schoolies Challenge cache (visit link) will have already met this requirement (as well as having completed other challenge requirements that are specific to the Schoolies Challenge).
If you have done this then you qualify for direct entry into the Bachelor's program, as do any other cachers who have already met this requirement (regardless of whether or not they have completed or ever will complete the Schoolies Challenge).

Once you have met the entry requirements (which are the first part of this challenge) , you can start the Bachelor's course (which is the second part of this challenge).

Your course consists of 7 modules, all of which are compulsory components of the B.GC program.

Module 1. Event Caches.
You must attend and log at least 2 event caches in two states of Australia (ie at least 4 event caches). Any type of event cache counts. Eg: MEGA, CITO, etc.

Module 2. Introductory Cache Streaks.
You must find and log a separate cache on at least 7 consecutive days. Events are excluded.

Module 3. Introduction to Bulk Finds part A.
You must find and log at least 30 finds in a single calendar day. Events are excluded.

Module 4. Introduction to Bulk Finds part B.
You must find and log at least 50 finds in each of two consecutive calendar months. (ie at least 100 caches).

Module 5. Introduction to Variety in Caching
You must find and log a traditional cache, a multi cache and a mystery / puzzle cache, and any two other cache types all in the same day.

Module 6. Introduction to Caching at Night
Between the hours of 1 hour after sunset to 1 hour before sunrise, you are to find and log 3 caches in a single caching outing. In your logs for these caches you must mention you did these during darkness.

Module 7. Adventurous Caching for Beginners
You need to find and log one cache that is accessed either by boat, by swimming, or by wading at least waist-deep to an uninhabited island or an isolated location completely surrounded by water. This one needs either a boat/canoe or you need a complete change of clothes. Just getting your feet or trousers wet isn't going to qualify.

Once you have found 150 caches, meeting the above requirements, you should post a note showing the dates on which each of the challenges were met so that I can verify that you have met the challenge requirements. You may then visit and log the physical cache, which is hidden at the listed coordinates.

Wow. A Bachelor of Geocaching.
That's quite an achievement - Well done.

Now for the fine print;
*Only caches listed on Groundspeak's geocaching.com web site can count for this challenge.
* You can only count an individual cache once for this challenge cache (ie you can’t count the 30 caches that you do in a single day as part of the 50 in a month).
* It is preferred (but not required) that count the caches that you complete for this challenge towards this challenge only, and complete additional caches for any other challenges that you might wish to complete.
* Any geocaching.com listed geocaches, anywhere, which meet the requirements listed above, can be counted towards this challenge.
