Panama Mount - Great RI Ocean Views #2 Traditional Cache
gsridge: While I think this is an interesting cache in a great location, it doesn’t seem to go more than a week before it gets muggled. I’m not close enough to it to constantly replace it, so I’m giving up on this one

As part of the defenses of Narragansett Bay during WW II, there were many forts arrayed along the south coast of RI, protecting the entrances to the Bay. Many of these locations already have caches - see "Defenses of the Bay" series
One of my series of great ocean view caches - see below
This stand alone gun point represents the location of a 155mm gun of a type that was originally developed for use in Panama in WW I, but continued use into WW II.
One of 3 of my caches with great views - see Beavertail Light and Wind Power. I was out doing some cache maintenance and WW II research on the coastal defenses when I realized I had a spare micro. Bring Pencil for log
This may be the easiest park and grab you've ever seen. Micro Altoids container in about the only place I could put it. South entrance to Brenton Point St Park
Google panama mount for more info on these guns
