Along the Trail Traditional Cache

Was glad to see that the Methuen Rail Trail was coming along and after a recent walk, thought it could use a few more caches! (Nevins Bird Sanctuary Cache down towards the other end). As implied by the name of the cache located further up the trail, keep going to get some nice views of the Bird Sanctuary, including a neat heron rookery across the wetlands.
This section of the Methuen Rail Trail has recently been completed, though they are working on refining side trails throughout the bird sanctuary. Parking coordinates below are for the Hampshire Road end of the trail, but their website provides a few other options: http://methuenrailtrail.org/directions/
Nice, fairly flat terrain. Mild bushwacking (there's a bit of a path off the main trail) to get to the cache - roughly 25 feet off the trail. Trail leads down to the old railroad station (or begins there, depending on where you park), which is now being used as offices for a local union. Enjoy the view!
