Welcome to Prince Spaghettiville Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Linda-Joy: This cache is located in a very nice day use greenspace area having a roofed area for celebrations, flowering trees, beautiful and peaceful river and a "rooftop" boat ramp for canoes/kayaks. It's not a big area, but a nice area that people seemed to enjoy coming to. Unfortunately, finding safe hiding places for the cache has become more difficult during the past 12 months due to both work in/near the park and muggles. I hope someone will be able to adopt this location in the future, but for now, I will archive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is at George Muldoon Park in South Lowell along the scenic Concord River. The spot is very popular in the spring/summer/fall for boating and fishing. There can be many muggles, especially during nice weather. If you are lucky you will catch the local freight train going over the Concord. Cache is a small plastic container. There is a small parking lot at one end of the park or you can park along the street. Spaghettiville is what this area of Lowell was often called for many years while the Prince Spaghetti factory was located nearby. * Stealth is required * It seems that the cache location was not secure enough to protect it from the view of muggles, so the cache container has been moved to another part of the park. The container is a grated cheese container and contains pen, paper and small swag. The coordinates have been updated. During summer of 2021, the city did a substantial amount of work along the shore including chopping down trees and thick bushes and underbrush along the shore. The container is in its place but is a small spice container. If you see any problems with the cache, just let me know and I will check it out. Just FYI, the cache is NOT along the rocks or near the water's edge. It is also not in a thorny tree. UPDATE: Jan 2023 Up until a few weeks ago there was some work going on in the area of ground zero. The cache had been in a tree and was disguised enough to not be really noticeable unless you were looking for it. However, It seems that someone(s) in the neighborhood has been doing some more clearing of the underbrush in the area and has prevented me from using the chosen tree. So I am going to have to pick a new spot. For now, I will try to find one and will log it when that's done. Update: June 2023 - Work by the city has been completed at the park. I have had to relocate the cache. However, I am having trouble getting true coordinates. So, I am going to tell you exactly where it is, then perhaps someone with better gps/ddm skills can give me better coordinates. Once I have more accurate coordinates, the specific location will be removed. Location of cache: The coordinates will take you to the parking lot of Muldoon Park. If you were to stand in the parking lot looking toward the train tracks, the cache is literally just 3 or so feet beyond the paved parking lot. As you stand there, count about 5 parking spots from the left. You will see a tree having some low branches and underbrush around its base. The container is a plastic spice jar that is hanging on a branch about chest height. This same tree has a path that goes around the back side of it. The container is visible from the back side. Also please note that the cache is NOT near the water (and never has been), nor is it in or around any of the rocks (nor has it been). It simply hangs in a tree area.
