Geocache Description:

Small container (PBJ) with log; needs swag.

The Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy (SWMLC) invites the public to visit the KL Avenue Nature Preserve in Kalamazoo County. Visitors can explore this new 70-acre nature preserve — located in the scenic, rolling hills of western Oshtemo Township — thanks to the generosity of Oshtemo Township resident Dick Malott. Dr. Malott donated KL Avenue Nature Preserve to SWMLC in the winter of 2012. SWMLC plans to allow the paths to develop organically by using existing logging trails and deer paths.
The preserve is mostly wooded with significant frontage along KL Avenue and 4th Street, a popular route for area joggers and bicyclists. Though a network of trails exists, additional amenities such as parking and signage are not yet in place. SWMLC is seeking feedback from township residents to determine the character and extent of potential future amenities and to create a master plan for the site. The main entrance to the preserve is located on KL Avenue, 1000 feet east of 4th Street. Please call the SWMLC office at (269) 324-1600 to RSVP. For more information, visit their web site at SWMLC.org.

This is the far southeast corner of the preserve. Spelunking is exploring caves. It's not in a cave, but kinda.
