Inverness & the Central Highlands
Vanaf het hoge, subarctische plateau van de Cairngorms naar de ruige, stenen venen van Glen Coe en Ben Nevis, zijn de centrale bergketens van de Schotse Hooglanden getuige van de beeldhouwkunst van de kracht van het ijs en het weer. Hier is het landschap is op zijn grootst, met stijgende heuvels van steen en heide begrensd door beboste valleien en ruisende watervallen.
Het is dan ook niet verrassend, dat dit deel van het land een avontuurlijke speelplaats is voor buitensportliefhebbers. Aviemore, Glen Coe en Fort William staan gelijk qua bezoekers voor heuvel wandelaars en klimmers in de zomer, skiërs, snowboarders en ijs klimmers in de winter. Inverness, de Highland hoofdstad, biedt stedelijke rust en ontspanning, en het nabijgelegen Loch Ness en zijn exclusieve monster voegen een vleugje mysterie toe.
Vanaf Fort William, het basiskamp voor het beklimmen van de Ben Nevis, kun via de weg naar de eilanden die langs de stranden van Arisaig en Morar leidt naar Mallaig, een startpunt voor de eilanden Eigg, rum, Muck en Canna.
Om deze omgeving te ervaren hier in Nederland en vanwege het gebrek aan caches met de volgende D/T rating, hebben wij een gecombineerde multi/ quiz gemaakt. De rating is D5/T5, wees voorbereid, geen cache is het waard om je leven voor te wagen! Deze cache zal je door vier etappes leiden en je op een meerdaagse reis nemen door de Highlands! Gezien de moeilijkheidsgraad 5 is, zullen er geen hints gegeven worden, maar mocht je toch echt vast zitten, dan kun je ons altijd emailen. Om met de reis te beginnen moet je eerst de puzzel op te lossen

From the high, subarctic plateau of the Cairngorms to the rugged, Rocky peats of Glen Coe and Ben Nevis, the central mountain ranges of the Scottish Highlands are testimony to the sculpting power of ice and weather. Here the landscape is at its grandest, with soaring hills of rock and heather bounded by wooded glens and rushing waterfalls.
Not surprisingly, this part of the country is an adventure playground for outdoor sport enthusiasts. Aviemore, Glen Coe and Fort William draw hill walkers and climbers in summer, skiers, snowboarders and ice climbers in winter. Inverness, the Highland capital, provides urban rest and relaxation, while nearby Loch Ness and its exclusive monster add a hint of mystery.
From Fort William, base camp for climbing Ben Nevis, the Road to the Isles leads past the beaches of Arisaig and Morar to Mallaig, jumping-off point for the isles of Eigg, Rum, Muck and Canna.
To recreate the experience this landscape and the lack of the following D/T rating in this area, we’ve made a combined Multi/ Quiz. The difficulty is D5/T5. Please be prepared, no cache is worth risking your life! This cache will take you through 4 stages and will take you on a journey of several days through the Highlands! As the difficulty rating is D5 there will be no hints given, however if you’re really stuck you can always email the CO. To start with the first stage you will need to complete the puzzle
