Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on Falls Creek Trail approximately 2.5 miles from Jones Gap State Park. The distance to the cache is about .8 miles from the trail head with an elevation change of 675 feet. This is a strenuous hike and you will have to “TRUST ME”, that the rewards of the hike outweigh the effort.

The parking area on Fall Creek Road is located a little past the Palmetto Bible Camp. The parking coordinates are N 35 07.951 W 082 31.944. Take Duckworth Road to Fall Creek Rd and follow your GPS to the trailhead.
The real rewards for this cache is approximately .1 mile farther along the trail, a beautiful cascading waterfall that is truly worth the hike.

With all the rocks, mountains and foliage it is almost impossible to get a good set of coordinates that will lead you right to the cache. By following the information provided and looking at the pictures you should have no problem locating the cache.

The cache is in a small camo'd pill container located in the crook at the base of a pine tree about twenty feet off the trail. Follow the trail to a horseshoe bend N35 08.345 W082 32.168. At this point there will be a faint path to the right of the trail. The cache is close to this trail at the base of a pine tree covered very well with limbs and leaves. To insure success view the pictures for this cache.

After locating the cache the real reward is the waterfall .1 mile farther along the trail pictures provided.

Note: On September 7, 2005, we returned for cache maintenance. There was no cache where it was supposed to be, so we replaced it with a new one. From reading the logs, we have no idea where the original cache is. One log gives coords where they hid it. They turned out to be over 400' away from where it was supposed to be. We looked for a half hour at those coords and didn't find anything. Another log says it is hidden at the entrance to campsite #11. There are no campsites along this trail, so someone must have moved it, and we have no idea where. There may be another cache somewhere out there, but this is now the "official" one. We are providing a picture of the cache container so you will know that you have found the "real" one. It is hidden in the exact same place we hid the original.

The cache container has a rather tight-fitting snap-on lid. Please reseal it completely and please rehide it well. Thanks.
