Esta pequena série de três caches é dedicada a minha cadela Nana e a todos os cães d' água, uma raça que esteve até há pouco tempo quase extinta. Quem quiser saber mais sobre estes cães fantásticos existe muita informação, por exemplo na Wikipedia.
Num destes dias fui com a Nana ao Cais da Solaria aqui em Lagos, junto à famosa Praia da Batata. Este é ainda o único lugar, que eu conheço, autorizado pela Câmara Municipal, onde se pode assistir ao treino de cães de água portugueses. Aqui a Nana pode fazer o que ela mais gosta: nadar, correr atrás de bolas e ir busca-la ao mar.
Nesse dia encontra-mos aqui a sua irmã Linda (que eu saiba, o único cão nadador salvador em Portugal) e depois de umas boas-vindas bem molhadas, ouvi uma conversa estranha entre as duas, que tinha algo a ver com desenterrar um tesouro:

The other day I went with Nana to the Cais da Solaria here in Lagos, next to the famous Praia da Batata (Potato beach). As far as I know, this is still the only place, authorized by the City Council, where you can watch Portuguese water dogs in training. Here she can do what she likes the most: swimming and picking up balls and toys from the sea.
By chance we met her sister Linda (the only trained water rescue dog in Portugal, as far as I know) and after a wet welcome, I listened to a strange conversation between the two, that had something to do with digging up a treasure:

Neulich ging ich mit Nana zu den Cais da Solaria hier in Lagos, direkt neben dem bekannten Praia da Batata (Kartoffelstrand) gelegen. Soviel ich weiss, ist das bis heute der einzige, von der Stadtverwaltung genehmigte Platz, an dem man portugiesische Wasserhunde beim Training beobachten kann. Hier kann sie tun und lassen was sie am liebsten macht: Schwimmen und Bälle und Spielzeug aus dem Meer holen.
Zufällig trafen wir hier ihre Schwester Linda (einziger ausgebildeter Wasserrettungshund in Portugal, soviel ich weiss) und nach einer feuchten Begrüssung, hörte ich eine seltsame Unterhaltung der beiden, die irgendwas mit dem Ausbuddeln eines Schatzes zu tun hatte:
