Through the Woods and Over the River: A Night Time Multicache
The coordinates provided here will guide you to a parking area at the trailhead. From there you must use a flashlight to spot reflective tacks that guide you up the West Road Trail to your first cache, containing a set of coordinates for you to follow.
It should only take about an hour to complete the entire cache, having you hike about a mile. Mount Wachusett closes at 10PM every night, so be sure to give yourself enough time. You won’t be far off the main trail at any point. If you are attempting this at night, you’ll need a flashlight! The brighter the light you bring, the better the tacks will show up for you. All major turns you must take along the way are indicated with 3 tacks forming a triangle, pointing you in the right direction to follow. Keep an eye out for them! Tacks along the trail to the first cache will be clearly visible, so you will know if you’ve gone past it.
The coordinates contained in each multi-cache you will find are not necessarily the exact location of the next cache, but are coordinates to an area where you should be able to spot a reflective tack marking the exact cache location. So when you get to the right area, make sure to shine your flashlight around! The cache won’t be more than 30 feet away from given locations.
Bring some shoes you aren’t afraid to get wet! You may be in some wet areas.
