Distinguished Residents of Buckinghamshire #13 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Birding Bob: I enjoyed putting together this series of puzzles based on distinguished people who have at some time resided in Buckinghamshire, learning something about them in the process. Visiting the caches to remove the containers is a process tinged with sadness but one that brought back many happy memories. Many thanks to those, more than a hundred in total, who took the trouble to solve the puzzles and visit this attractive area to search for the caches.

Geocache Description:

The thirteenth in a series of fourteen tributes to residents of Buckinghamshire that have distinguished themselves in their chosen sphere. The puzzles are designed to be solvable by anyone familiar with Google.

Person Delta moved to Buckinghamshire as a consequence of his profession and was resident for thirty-three years until his death. He and his wife are buried in a vault adjacent to a nearby church, in which there is a memorial to him from a monarch, the only instance a reigning British monarch has erected a memorial to a subject. He and his wife had no children.

Delta converted from his father's religion to Christianity at the age of twelve, an important decision as he could not otherwise have pursued his chosen career. The law was subsequently changed during his lifetime.

Delta had become established as a novelist before embarking on the career that eventually made him a world figure. When he was ennobled, Delta took the name of a Buckinghamshire town.

Delta's first three novels had the following number of letters in each word: 1. AB  2. CDE  3. FG
