On Friday, September 27, 2013, the Bangor area geocaching community lost one of it's own when Peggi Dean passed away. Peggi cached with her husband Les under the name Newbie74. Peggi and Les were regulars at all the Bangor area geocaching events especially the monthly Breakfast Club meetings. I always considered myself lucky if I got to sit next to Peggi at breakfast as she loved to talk caching.
For those who find this cache, if you were lucky enough to know Peggi, please feel free to include a Newbie story with your log. I liked to tease Newbie about the time she found the Field Corner Cache in Newport. While I hiked the one mile down the rail trail to the cache and back, Newbie wasn't having any of that. She parked out on Rt 2 and darted the 300 feet through someone's backyard to the cache. She always told the story with a smile saying "No one saw me."
The cache is a simple grc magnetic container placed while GenieCache, Eric and Virginia and I were going to Milo to Newbie's memorial service
