Convidamos todos os geocachers a participarem no dia 7 de novembro num evento que irá marcar um acontecimento geo-histórico. O Geocaching vai até ao espaço através de um TB muito especial! O local será no Ribeiro Serrão na Camacha onde, se o céu estiver limpo, poderá visualizar o espaço celestial na sua total grandiosidade.

O Geocaching vai até ao espaço através de um TB muito especial! O Travel Bug ‘TB5JJN1’ vai acompanhar o astronauta da NASA, Rick Mastracchio, na sua missão à Estação Espacial Internacional (ISS - International Space Station). Será no dia 7 de novembro de 2013, às 04h08, que a nave espacial Soyuz viaja para a ISS, com partida do Cazaquistão. Este astronauta pretende ainda fazer um FTF na geocache “International Space Station”, colocada nesta estação espacial a 14-10-2008, por Richard Garriott.

Desafiamos os geocachers madeirenses e visitantes para se juntarem a nós, nas coordenadas N32º 41.740 W016º 51.707, no dia 7 de novembro, pelas 20h00, para assinalarmos este acontecimento geo-histórico. O local de encontro será no Ribeiro Serrão na Camacha. Esta zona foi selecionada por ser possível observar o céu quase sem interferência de luzes artificiais. O tema central deste convívio será o espaço, ficando ao critério de cada participante trazer algum aparelho de observação celestial. Este evento visa também proporcionar conversa entre geocachers residentes na ilha, como convida outros geocachers que estejam de visita na nossa ilha a participarem neste convívio.

Apareçam para assinar o logbook muito ‘espacial’, trocar TB's e Geocoins e contar as vossas histórias e aventuras.

Cada geocacher que participar num evento de Geocaching no dia 6 ou 7 de novembro de 2013 será premiado com um souvenir "Geocaching in Space".

Geocaching goes to space through a very special TB! The Travel Bug 'TB5JJN1' will accompany NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio in its mission to the International Space Station (ISS - International Space Station). On November 7th 2013, at 4:08 a.m., the Soyuz spacecraft will be traveling to the ISS, departing from Kazakhstan. This astronaut also intends to claim the FTF in the geocache “International Space Station”, placed in this space station by Richard Garriott in 14-10-2008.

We invite all resident and visitor geocachers to join us at N32º 41.740 W016º 51.707 on Nov. 7th 2013, at 08:00 p.m., in order to celebrate this geo-historic event. The venue will be at Ribeiro Serrão, Camacha. This area was selected because here it is possible to observe the sky almost without interference from artificial lights. The central theme of this event will be the “Space”. Each participant should bring at his own discretion some celestial observation apparatus. This event also aims on the confraternization between resident and visitors geocachers in our island.

There will be a ‘spacial’ logbook to sign, TB 's and Geocoins to show/swap and stories and adventures to tell.

Each geocacher who attends a Geocaching event on the 6th or 7th of November 2013 will be awarded a "Geocaching in Space" souvenir.
