INFERNO is a 2013 mystery thriller novel by renowned American author Dan Brown and the fourth book in his Robert Langdon series. The final of the novel took place here.

CEHENNEM Amerikalı yazar Dan Brown tarafından yazılıp 2013'te basılan bir gerilim ve gizem romanıdır ve Robert Langdon serisinin dördüncü kitabıdır. Kitabın finali burada geçiyor.

The novel was number one on the New York Times Best Seller list for hardcover fiction and Combined Print & E-book fiction for the first eleven weeks of its release, and also remained on the list of E-book fiction for the first seventeen weeks of its release.

The final of the novel took place at the Basilica Cistern. The Basilica Cistern is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city of Istanbul. The cistern, located 500 feet (150 m) southwest of the Hagia Sophia on the historical peninsula of Sarayburnu, was built in the 6th century during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian I.

It is worth to visit the Basilica Cistern, the entrance fee is 20 TL (2015).

Yerebatan Sarnıcı İstanbul'da ki en büyük kapalı sarnıçtır. Ayasofya binasının batısındaki küçük binadan girilir. Sütun ormanı görünümündeki mekanın tavanı tuğla örülü, çapraz tonozludur. Zamanında civardaki bir bazilikadan dolayı bu isimle anılmıştır.

Hâlihazırda İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi iştiraklerinden Kültür A.Ş. tarafından işletilen Yerebatan Sarnıcı, müze olmanın yanında ulusal ve uluslararası birçok etkinliğe ev sahipliği yapmaktadır.
