Just a little cache in a very historic location in Tunbridge.
When I decided to place this cache it was my intention to place it in honor of all the abandoned little rope tows that folks used to learn how to ski on. I was to be dedicated to my old caching buddy and skiing mentor Ski-guide. But, alas, since I found the spot the owners have taken the poles with the pulleys down. It is still a cool spot though after you find the cache and check out the schoolhouse and cemetery if you look a little to the west you will see the powerhouse for the rope-tow and before snow flies you will even be able to investigate the remnants of the poles and pulleys. It is very intriguing to examine these artifacts as a tribute to the Yankee ingenuity that contributed to the growth of a major sport. If you get a chance to see the film United we Ski about these once thriving neighborhood hills I highly recommend it.
