Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDS!!

Platt Hill State Park seems to have been forgot about as time has past! I recently stopped in and enjoyed a walk around while taking in the scenery. A nice little park that offers fields, trails, views, a picnic area, etc. Gate is open during the summer months(daylight hours only) but remains closed during the winter months(room for a couple cars near gate when closed). Hope you enjoy your walk around while visiting!!

So how can you view them? Check out the below image. It is a nice diagram of how the two most common viewing methods work

Divergence Method This is the more common viewing method, and is sometimes called the "Parallel" or "Wide-Eyed" method. With the Divergence method the lines of sight of your eyes more outward toward parallel and meet in the distance at a point well behind the image. The best way to explain this would be to stand behind your screen door and look at an object beyond the screen. The object is your distance point, and the screen is the stereogram. Within this method there are two common methods (but not limited to two). You can try the "Putting Your Nose Into It" method, this appears to be one of the easiest ways of achieving your ultimate goal of viewing the image. For this to work you will need to put the printed stereogram up to your nose (if viewing digitally then you need to do the same but the movements will be made by your head and not the image). Relax your eyes and don't focus on the paper, everything should be blurry. Slowly pull the image away from your nose maintaining the same relaxed eye position, as you pull it back you should start to see the hidden image come out. Do not quickly try to focus on it yet, give your eyes a few seconds to adjust and crisp the image up. If at anytime during this process your eyes focus on the stereogram before the image appears you will need to start over. If the above does not work, there is another method you can try. Focus your eyes on an object about 5 or 10 feet away from you and slowly move the stereogram into your field of vision. Do not move it to quickly or your liable to cause your eyes to focus on the stereogram before the image pops out. If needed you can stop the stereogram right on the object your focusing on to give your eyes more time to adjust. NOTICE: With the Divergence Method if you view a stereogram designed for the Cross-Eye Method the 3D image will suck back instead of popping forward. Cross-Eye Method This is a secondary method to try if the "Divergence" doesn't work. And for some (like myself) this method will actually come easier to you. With this method you cross your eyes on a focus in front of the stereogram, then adjust the amount of "cross" until the hidden image starts to appear. There is really nothing fancy about this one that can help you practice that I'm aware of, some people might need the aid of a finger in front of their face in order to start the cross eye though. NOTICE: With the Cross-Eye Method if you view a stereogram designed for the Divergence Method the 3D image will suck back instead of popping out.
