Calling all pups (and their geocaching owners)!
Pearl is ready for the warm weather, and wants to bring together all her friends to enjoy a nice day at North Z. Boaz Park on Sunday, April 27th from 1pm - 4pm.
We will stake out a spot on the grassy area somewhere near parking. You should have no problem finding us.
North Z. Boaz Park in Ft. Worth was once a golf course, but has since been turned into a peaceful place with vast open areas, ponds, a paved walking path, and trees sprinkled throughout. This makes for an excellent place to walk your dog, play Frisbee, catch, or soccer, or have a picnic.
We invite you to do just that - pack up a picnic, grab your camp chairs and blankets, round up your mitts (and your MUTTS!), baseballs, soccer balls, Frisbees, tennis balls (you name it!) and come out and join a group of geocachers for an afternoon of fun and fellowship!
And if playing catch, kicking around a ball, or throwing a Frisbee doesn’t interest you, I’m sure there are some nearby caches!
This event is in the spirit of S.W.A.G.’s “no frills” attitude. The purpose of this event is to get cachers and dogs together to explore a hidden treasure in West Ft. Worth. No bells and whistles - just good old outdoors fun!
A few things to remember:
- Park is open from dawn to dusk.
- Follow all posted park rules.
- No alcoholic beverages. But bringing a picnic and non-alcoholic beverage (including water for your 4-legged pal!) is highly encouraged!
- The park currently does not have restroom facilities, so plan accordingly.
- Dogs must be on leash and please pick up after them! Also pick up all trash and deposit in trash cans.
- If you bring your dog, be sure they are current on vaccinations, flea & tick treatments, and be sure they have some sort of identification on their collar (just in case!).
- If your dog is aggressive, or doesn’t do well in social situations, please leave Fido at home for everyone’s safety (including your dog’s).
- Park in spaces provided in parking log only.
Pearl is looking forward to seeing all of you! C’mon out for some fun!
