Conocida desde hace tiempo como la perla de la Axarquía es el pueblo de Cómpeta, una de las mejores bases para una estancia en la Axarquía.
Situado setecientos metros sobre el nivel del mar, con impresionantes vistas de las montañas circundantes, el campo y el Mediterráneo, Cómpeta es mejor conocido por muchos por su vino de producción local, disponible tanto en seco y dulce, además de ser abundante y barato. Una de las fiestas anuales más popular aquí es la Noche del Vino (Noche del Vino), el 15 de agosto, que cuenta con un programa de flamenco y sevillanas música y danza, además de un montón de vino de flujo libre. Al parecer, la gente del lugar supuestamente prefieren los vinos más dulces, mientras que los residentes y los turistas como la seca extranjeros. Esta zona es especialmente popular entre los escandinavos, muchos de los que han renovado masías y fincas antiguas en los alrededores.

Located seven hundred metres above sea level with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, countryside and Mediterranean, Competa is best known to many for its locally produced wine, available both dry and sweet, as well as being plentiful and cheap. One of the most popular annual fiestas here is the Noche del Vino (Night of the Wine) on the 15th August which features a programme of flamenco and sevillana music and dance, plus plenty of free-flowing vino. Apparently, the locals reputedly prefer the sweeter wines, while the foreign residents and tourists like the dry. This area is particularly popular with Scandinavians, many of who have renovated old farmhouses and fincas in the vicinity.

Geboten wird ein Programm des Flamenco und Sevillana Musik und Tanz, plus viel von frei fließenden Vino. Man sagt, die Einheimischen bevorzugen den süßen Wein, während die ausländische Einwohner und Touristen eher den trocken Wein bevorzugen. Dieser Bereich ist besonders beliebt bei Skandinaviern, von denen viele alte Bauernhäuser und Fincas in der Nähe renoviert wurden.
