Geocache Description:

That's right! Everybody gets an FTF! (or at least the opportunity for an FTF)

Prior to the FTF hunt we'll get together at Lupita's Restaurant at 11:30am for some food, conversation and fun.

Yes, I'm talking about a true, you're the first person to sign the log FTF. I know you're asking yourself, how does it work that everybody gets an FTF? Good question. Here's how it's going to work:

For every cacher that puts in a 'Will Attend' log prior to May 1st, I will place a new cache in Topeka (or surrounding area). One per caching name so if you're a caching family I'm only placing one new cache sad. However if your spouse/kids/dog have their own account, submit a 'Will Attend' log and come to the event they'll get one too. (Ok, maybe not your dog. I don't think Lupita's allows non-service dogs in the restaurant. And no, I don't believe a geopup counts as a service dog.)

There were 21 'Will Attend' logs submitted by the deadline so there will be plenty of new caches for everyone.

After lunch (12:30ish) we will have a random drawing of cacher names who get to come pick out a sealed envelope with the coordinates for an approved but yet unpublished cache. Also inside each envelope there will also be encrypted coordinates for the rest of the new caches placed in conjunction with the event.

When you find your FTF cache, inside you will get the key to decode the coordinates of the rest of the new caches. Once you have decoded the other cache coordinates you could possibly 'steal' someone elses FTF if they haven't found theirs yet. If you do this, please leave the code for the person who had the envelope for that cache so they'll be able to decode the rest of their coordinates and can enjoy an afternoon of caching (if they choose).

There may be enough new caches that even those that don't put in their 'Will Attend' logs by April 30th will have the opportunity for an FTF but I don't want to promise anything since I don't know what the response will be like. For those that don't get one of the FTF envelopes (or don't want to run out for the FTF) I will pass out unencrypted sheets with the new caches a half hour (or so, maybe less) after the FTF group leaves.

Simple, huh? Ok, maybe not but it will be fun to try. Yes, my current plan is to place all the caches myself between May 1st and May 9th(or sooner to get them pre-approved). If there's an overwhelming response I might be looking for a little help but I'll figure that out later.

One thing I"m going to try and do is allow the option of requesting certain aspects of caches in your will attend logs. That doesn't mean you'll get a possible FTF of what you requested since they will be sealed and drawn randomly but hopefully what you requested will be in the overall mix. What I mean by this is that if you're looking for a Park and Grab, say so. If you want something with a higher difficulty or terrain, say that. Or if you want a hike. Or city vs country, park vs parking lot, high vs low, micro vs regular or large, and so on. Please don't say you want specific Difficulty/Terrain combinations to help fill your Fizzy grid. General requests are fine though. It will help give me an overall idea of what people are most interested in. And puzzles aren't going to work well for this event so I will preemptively say no requests for puzzles.

So, if you're interested, please submit your 'Will Attend' log rather than waiting or writing a note. If you don't come that will just be one more cache for everybody else. I just really need to have an idea of how many people are interested in something like this so I can place an appropriate number of caches. And if you just want to come to chat and eat and don't care about the FTF aspect just say so in your log. Everyone is invited even if you're beyond the FTF phase of your caching career.

I hope everyone has fun with this idea and has a great time at the event!
