Geocache Description:

Newton Reservoir is no longer a water supply, but a beautiful pond and fishing area, in Athol, MA.. Fishermen will find a variety of fish including yellow perch, bluegill, sunfish and rainbow trout here. Whether you’re spinning, fly fishing or baitcasting your chances of getting a bite here are good.

This small lock and lock container is hidden along the shores of Newton Reservoir. The easy hike is about 1/2 mile, and can be continued for another  3 miles around the pond, or straight down to the Buckman Shelter on the Millers River. Keep on the lookout for beavers, deer, otters, and many other wildlife around this area. This cache was released as part of the Stay and Play in the North Quabbin event. Please bring your own pen.
