Geocache Description:

Over the last few years, Lawrence University has re-embraced this segment of the waterfront by adding open trails, inviting students to place temporary art and by installing historical plaques detailing the University's connection to the Fox River. What better way to highlight this enhancement than to place a few new caches?

Coordinates will bring you to the third marker along the trail entitled A River of Time. Answer a few questions to compile your solve coordinates and complete the cache.

Aldo Leopold is quoted in F places on the plaque from his work, The Journey of X, an except from A Sand County Almanac, which attempts to tell the story of the incredible passage of time from the perspective of an atom's journey. Standing in this spot 20,000 years ago would have you covered in a mile thick glacier. Further back, between J00 and GI0 billion years ago, you'd have been underwater with the C Cephalopods in the sea depiction. Still further back in time, some A.B million years ago, you'd have been standing on a mountain range. And I thought the topography had changed dramatically since my first cache placement here! There are a few pictures of students learning about geologic formations and the Niagara Escarpment, in one picture H and D of them are studying a dolostone outcrop (ignore the outcast) and in another, a group of E students are taking notes upon Cactus Rock
