A five-leg multi-cache in honor of Cinco de Mayo!
It's about time Santa Barbara had its own multi-cache. This one
isn't too difficult, but will probably take a few hours because
there are 5 legs, and some of them are a little tricky to find.
However, all but the last leg are on level, paved terrain, so no
hiking boots are necessary.
The locations get progressively prettier as you go. The entire
hunt won't take you outside a 10 mile radius of the starting point.
A car or bicycle is necessary. All legs are bike accessible, except
for the last one. Some locations are in parks, and are therefore
only accessible during daylight hours.
The actual instructions were too long to post here, so I created
a separate page for them:
http://www.alumni.caltech.edu/~steven/cinco.html
Visit the URL above and print out (or copy down) the
instructions.
The coordinates above are the first leg of the adventure. If you
run into any trouble, you can send me an E-Mail and I'll give you a
hint.
Happy hunting, and feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Additional Hints (Decrypt)
[The notice about aviation is no longer present. It used to say "no kite flying" and it had the following city ordinance number:] gjragl-fvk qnfu friragrra qbg sbhe [One of these days, I'll redo that part of the cache. But until then, everyone gets a freebie.](Decrypted Hints)

April 25, 2008 by RonFisk (4132 found) After more than a year and I don't know how many starts, I finally put this one behind me. This is one of those multi-caches that requires a certain amount of determination and perseverance. After arriving at the final location I joined Molly & Chloe, signed the log book and enjoyed the beautiful panoramic view. I highly recommend this adventure and many thanks to Big Green for bringing me here...

April 13, 2008 by holazola (715 found) #250! This was a lot of fun! I'll admit I "cheated" and attacked this one like a puzzle. It probably took longer than physically running it - but it was a good challenge with a little estimation, deduction, iteration, some revisions, and a bunch of flying around on Google Earth! As soon as I figured out a likely final stage, I loaded up the the girls (and the dog) and headed out to a section of 'that' park that I haven't visited before. Wow, Nice views! Walked right to the container! Sweet. The kids traded and added some swag while I enjoyed the great logbook! Thanks Big Green. PS In an attempt to maybe help re-establish the freebie stage, I took a lap around that area today. There are absolutely NO references to that ordinance anywhere in the park anymore! AND -I am not making this up - I saw a ranger ding someone for kite flying as I drove by! All of the other ordinances posted are only 4 digits, but I saw something that might work... Big Green - I'll mail you an idea if it works out. Thanks again for the adventure.

February 7, 2008 by jonnycache-sb (111 found) We finally completed this geocache. On our first day out, we counted something wrong and needed a hint. Given that, we found the final location today. Beautiful views.TNLN
