Geocache Description:

A nice hike along the Ridgeline Trail in the Irish Mountains or Berlin and Northfield will get you a few extra smiley’s if you go the distance.  I have hiked this in Winter with snow shoes as well as the other three seasons with no issues.  The trail is not marked, but if you follow the path of least resistance you will either eventually come back out on it, or chances are you never left it.  Remember to stick to the high ground and you should be good to go.

This is one of my favorite hikes (and closest to my home), and I just wanted to link up the caches along this great trail.  I don't expect a bunch of finders, but sometimes it's not about finding the caches, but the journey along the way.

Total time should be about 3-5 hours depending.  Bring a camera and don't forget your water.  The hardest part is the initial push to the tower and then it’s a rolling up and down (for the most part) until Paine Mountain.  Don't forget to find the benchmark while there!  This one might pose a little trouble during wintertime, but perseverence should pay off.  There is a 6' drop off close to the cache so caution should prevail if bringing little ones.

There is a puzzle cache for those who go the distance, but I really don't remember what cache I put the coordinates in.  Your job is to find the right cache and the smiley is yours.
