Scorpion Spider:
Family: Trochanteriidae.
Average body length: 4-9 mm.
Identification: Shiny red-brown or black to grey, with light marks on the abdomen. Body very flat. Able to fold its fourth pair of legs over its body like a scorpion, from there its name.
Habitat: Seen under rocks, tree bark and in trees. Often under pot plants in houses. Hides in crevices.
Customs: Night living.
Venom: Harmless to humans.
