Where: The Darebin Creek Trail and John Cain Memorial Park, Thornbury, VIC, Australia. Meet at the junction of the Darebin Creek Trail and Ford Crescent, Thornbury.
What: We are picking up rubbish along the Darebin Creek Trail and John Cain Memorial Park. We will probably split the teams in two, those with small kiddies can have a crack at the litter in JCMP. And the grown-ups can have a go at the more incideious and fly-tipped stuff down the trail.
Date and Time: Sunday 10th August 2014. Noon for maybe 1.5 hours. Important to be there on time as we will have an OH&S briefing at 12:05.
Bring: Good sturdy gloves, good sturdy shoes, long trousers, rainwear if it looks like it might. A facemask and eye protection if you wish. And if you have a UHF handheld CB that would be really useful.
Parking: Yes there is lots and lots and lots. All free.
Is there a cache nearby: Yes, you bet there is, it is a cache rich environment.
Prizes: A FTF prize will be drawn, and there will be another prize for whoever finds the weirdest/coolest item of trash.
Will I recieve a lot of support, advice, equipment and rubbish removal from the City of Darebin. They have been awesome, and thanks to them. We will have a "sharps" container, although we don't expect that this will be a major issue.
