Over the years, the geo-horse, Andy, and I have explored the trails in the quadrant bordered by Rt 11A (Oak St), Hanson's Ridge Rd, Deering Ridge Road and Rt. 109 (Main St) in Springvale. This trail has become known to us as "the long way to the railroad bed". Special thanks to the Maddox Family for allowing me not only to ride this trail with Andy, but also to share their part of it with geocachers.
You are looking for a classically hidden dark green canister fill with child-friendly swag. Please be sure the container is rehidden and cammoed right side up to help it stay dry. This hide is an easy one to 'warm you up' for the two further up this trail. They are much higher up on the 'cleverness scale'.
I've made the terrain a 'two' due to the length of the hike, tall grasses that like to trip me on a short section of the trail and just a little bushwhacking. With a small amount of snow, it is winter friendly. Please remember the 'bug stuff' in other seasons.
