Over the years, the geo-horse Andy and I have explored the many side trails of the Springvale Rail Trail and we are excited to introduce this side trail to cachers. We call it "The Long Way" Trail since it's the longest way from the barn to the Rail Trail. (I know...it's not very original.) We espectially thank the Maddox Family for not only allowing us to ride on this trail, and also for letting us introduce this trail to cachers.
Seymour lives just off the trail near the edge of the Maddox property, so once you find him and sign his log, you'll need to hike back down to the rail trail. The round trip is about a mile and has two other caches on the way to Seymour. I'm hoping that the adjoining landowner will give me permission for more caches in the future.
This is a cache that some will figure out quickly and others may not. For now, I'm not giving much for hints, but I'll gladly give hints through email if you're stuck. Seymour did live on the big granite rock in my rock garden last summer, but is happy now to greet cachers. Please be sure he is securely in his spot. If he ends up slipping to the ground, I'll visit him and make him even more secure.
