SirKarp: Please note that the announcement dated 11-2-14 was actually logged on 11-15-14 moments before this archival log, however I misdated. Oh, well.

The event was a success, and while it was a lot of work, it was also a lot of fun. Thanks again to all the volunteers, and attendees!!!!!!!!

Geocache Description:

Legend has it that the Kennydale hall is haunted. In particular there are two places inside the hall that have had the most activity. The first spot is the cloak room, just as you walk in, the main entrance it is there on your left. Legend has it that a the local witch Ms. Kennydale herself use to practice her craft out of that small room. Supposedly, she returns on the 2nd of November every year to reclaim her hall.

The second most haunted spot is in the storage room, the space off on the right hand side of the hall where the tables and chairs are stored. No one knows for sure what happened in that room, but what we do know is that if a person stays in that area of the hall for very long, that they will start to see all sorts of abnormal things. The most common report is of a spooky looking organ, sort of shimmering in the light with a little fog around it. That is why they keep the tables and chairs in there today, they don't want anyone "hanging" around in that room for very long.

Just a few days after Halloween, your hosts, SirKarp, NWStinkerBella, and WSGA Puget Sound, invite you to come out on November 2nd, as we are going to have a big old Halloween event, just to see if any unusual sightings occur.

This event is sure to be enjoyed by young and old alike, and open to any and all Geocachers. Come on out to share some food with old friends, meet some new ones and enjoy one last bit of Halloween, Geocaching style, while you still can. Maybe even experience some of the legend.

Volunteers: Last but certainly not least we can't make this happen without a couple of volunteers. We will need help with the following things.
#1 One or Two people willing to come in before the event and help us setup. Duties will include helping us setup tables and chairs, and possibly with some of the décor.
#2. We need one or two people willing to sit at a table during the event to help with name tags, trackables, the costume contest and general information.
#3. One or two People willing to stay after the event to help with take down. Duties will include folding up and putting away tables and chairs, also taking down décor.
If you would like to Volunteer for one or more of the available positions please contact SirKarp and / or mention it in your log. Thank you for considering volunteering.

Update 10-29-14 Volunteer position #2 has now been filled, and we now have two volunteers for position #1, so that is now filled. Now we have one volunteer for position #3, though we could use two. The remaining volunteer spot is for after the event take down. Unlike the Holiday Hoopla event where we mostly only need to put away tables, chairs and some light décor, we will all of that to take down plus some extra stuff inside, as well as dismantling the mini-haunt in the parking lot and loading up into the truck and trailer. So please consider volunteering for the after event take down if you can. Thanks!
This event is sponsored by Washington State Geocaching Association. If you are a geocacher in the state of Washington, please consider joining WSGA. See the WSGA website for details.
