8 Most Amazing Geocaches in the US for Beginners Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ecylram: Thank you to all the agents that made this event. You did a great job collecting the suspect 'swag' from Geocaching HQ and wearing appropriate hazmat protection.

Most of all I want to thank all of those who helped make this event a success. All the help in setting up, running the raffle, running the children's games, and then tearing everything down was greatly appreciated. Because of you we left the area cleaner than when we arrived and I've heard great feedback from the attendees.

Finally, a special thanks to Memfis Mafia who had the unfortunate luck of having an event already scheduled on the same day as this event. He handled the situation gracefully and still put on a killer event that included placing the highest WhereIGO in the world.

We are lucky to live in a place with some many great geocachers! Give yourself a big round of applause. [:D]

Urgent Meeting - Contagion

In light of this urgent development, your presence is required at the attached coordinates at 10am on September 20th. We have new evidence to indicate that "Head Case" is far more dangerous than previously believed.

In April of 2013 a "Lackey" that goes by the moniker of "MissJenn" (Patient 1) visited Head Case and signed one of the mutated logs.

Despite the stern warnings, Patient 1 placed Head Case on her head in an attempt to gain heightened cache finding abilities and a more youthful appearance. Our recent intelligence does indeed indicate that her cache finding ability is prodigious and that she is looking at least 10-years younger than her reported age.

Unfortunately we now have evidence of a person-to-person transfer of the, still unidentified, Head Case contagion. After Patient 1's return to work (at an organization called "Geocaching Headquarters"), coworkers who had never visited Head Case were reporting inexplicable urges in regards to Head Case and a month later they voted it the "Geocache of the Week".

The contagion's effect did not, as expected, fade with time. Now, 17-months after Patient 1's original exposure to the contagion, Patient 1's workplace has given into the contagion's powerful urges and voted Head Case as one of the "Eight Most Amazing Geocaches in the US for Beginners". They even sent large amounts of "swag" as an offering - a behavior we have not documented to this point.

This is the message that Geocaching Headquarters sent out:

There are now 1 million *insert Dr. Evil’s voice* geocaches hidden in the US. We’re celebrating 1 million active Geocaches in the United States. In honor of this milestone, Geocaching Headquarters has created a list of the most amazing geocaches in the US for beginners. Head Case, GC2TD8M, was included on that list! So let’s get together to celebrate!
  • In honor of this milestone, staff at Geocaching.com have released a list of The 8 Most Amazing Geocaches in the US for Beginners.
  • Check out the other Most Amazing Geocaches in the US for Beginners, as determined by the staff at Geocaching.com: [See complete list below]
  • Published with special permission from Geocaching HQ.
Where: N 39° 47.937 W 104° 47.638
When: September 20th, 2014
Time: 10am-11am
Who: Open to all geocachers, families, and anyone interested in learning about geocaching
What: A celebration of Head Case
Here’s the plan:
We’ll get together at Buckley & E. 56th for a little celebration, including fun giveaways from Geocaching HQ. Those new to geocaching are invited to attend. We’ll talk about geocaching, what makes a good beginner geocache, get to know each other, and swap stories from the geocaching trail. After the event, we’ll then take a walk to GC2TD8M to experience one of the most amazing geocaches in the US for beginners. And of course, geocaching beginners are welcome!
And now for The 8 Most Amazing Geocaches in the US for Beginners. (Drum roll please.)

This development is most insidious as it implies an effort by Head Case to infect the next generation of geocachers.

In light of this unexpected development, your presence is required at the attached coordinates at 10am to 11am on September 20th. There you will be needed to intercept the "swag" to prevent a further spread of the contagion, inspect Head Case to make sure it is still secure, and provide stern warnings to the local populace (local media has been invited). Wear your best protective gear and log your findings here.

Godspeed.
