Nuestro objetivo es ayudar a nuestros colegas EarthCachers a disfrutar de la naturaleza.   Este año, como parte de las celebraciones por los 10 años del primer EC, hemos creado una carrera de 5 km en la que puedes participar de forma individual o en equipo. Lo que tienes que hacer es corer o andar (o ir en bici, patines, nadando… cualquier método de propulsion humana es válido) un recorrido de 5km comenzando o finalizando en un EarthCache activo, durante cualquiera de los días comprendidos entre el viernes 3 de octubre y el lunes 13 de octubre de 2014.   Tienes que tomar el tiempo que tardes en realizer el recorrido y hacerte una foto con el “dorsal” en el que debe estar escrito el código GC del EarthCache y, al final de la Carrera, completer un formulario y descargar la foto. A todos los que completen la Carrera y descarguen la foto, la Earthcache Organization les enviará por email un icono para ponerlo en el perfil o en su página web. Participar es GRATUITO.

¿Cómo participar?
Todos los participantes deben estar de acuerdo y seguir las Reglas oficiales de la Carrera, que aparecen más abojo y en el “cartel de la prueba”.

Reglas Oficiales de la Carrera

• 1. Debes consultar con tu medico antes de la Carrera para estar seguro de que tu salud es adecuada para participar. 
  2. Tu carrera debe comenzar o terminar en un EarthCache active.
     
  3. Debes corer como mínimo 5km.
  4. Debes calcular el tiempo que tardas en realizarlo.
  5. Debes corer en una ruta segura y no interferer con propiedad privada, carreteras u otras actividades.
  6. Tu assumes todos los riesgos asociados con esta actividad y descargas al EarthCache Program, a la Geological Society of , geocaching.com y a cualquier organización o individuo relacionado con la organización de cualquier responsabilidad.
  7. Entrando, aceptas recivir comunicaciones de The Geological Society of America (GSA) que puede incluir electronic newsletters, emails y cartas con información sobre las acyividades de la Sociedad.  GSA values your privacy and will only use your contact information for the purposes of the Society.  GSA sigue las mejores practices para asegurar tu seguridad, confianza y privacidad de sus comunicaciones electrónicas o postales.   EarthCache Virtual 5K Run

  We are all about helping fellow EarthCachers enjoy the great outdoors.   This year, as part of our 10 year celebrations, we have a special Virtual 5km run in which you can participate as an individual or team. What you have to do is run or walk (or bike, roll, swim--any human-powered method is great!) a 5km (3.1 miles) path starting at OR ending at an active EarthCache on any of the days over which the run is being held (Friday 3 October through till Monday 13 October 2014).   You time yourself from start to finish and take a photo of yourself holding a race 'bib' sign with the GC code of the EarthCache, and at the end of your run, complete a simple form and upload your photo. Everyone who completes the run and uploads a photo will be sent an icon via email that you can display on your caching pages or website. And it is FREE to participate.

  How to participate
  All participants must agree to and follow the Official Run Rules printed below and on the bib.  
  By printing off the bib or T shirt or by completing any of the online forms,
  you have agreed to follow all the Official Run Rules.
  

  
  
  Official Run Rules

  • 1. You should consult with your medical practitioner before the run to ensure that you are healthy enough to participate. 
    2. Your run must start at or end at an active EarthCache.
       
    3. Your run must cover at least 5km.
    4. You must keep your own accurate time.
    5. You must run on a safe route and not interfere with private property, roadways or other activities.
    6. You assume all risks associated with this activity and release the EarthCache program, the Geological Society of America , geocaching.com and any associated organization or individuals from any liability.
    7. By entering you agree to receive communications from The Geological Society of America (GSA) which may include electronic newsletters, emails and postal delivery of information about the Society’s operations, programs and opportunities.  GSA values your privacy and will only use your contact information for the purposes of the Society.  GSA follows best practices to ensure the safety, reliability, and privacy of its electronic and postal communications.
