Geocache Description:

This cache is located just before Bridal Veil Falls, an 80-foot waterfall on the west side of Cannon Mountain. The trip to Bridal Veil Falls is a 5-mile round trip hike on the Coppermine Trail.  Coppermine Trail is a wide, tree-lined trail that is easy to follow.  It has an 1100 foot elevation gain over generally easy grades.  The trail may be muddy or wet in the spring.

Parking is on Coppermine Road in a parking area near Rte. 116. Parking coordinates are given.   As a very prominent sign at the end of the parking area indicates, no parking is allowed beyond this point. Walk 0.4 mile up Coppermine Road (passing Beechwood Lane on the left) and turn left onto Coppermine Trail at a hiker symbol.

After walking approximately 1 mile, you will see Coppermine Brook off to your right.  (The “Keeper of Stray Ladies” cache is nearby.) You’ll walk alongside this brook for a good portion of the remaining hike. Just after the trail first comes by the brook, bear right on the flat, rocky Coppermine Trail where a smoother path (a cross-country ski trail) diverges left and uphill. The trail will soon become narrower but is still easy to follow.  At 2.3 miles, you will cross over the brook on a bridge.   Turn left along the brook after crossing the bridge, avoiding an old ski trail that leads uphill to the right. After passing Coppermine Shelter, a hiker’s lean-to on the left, cross over the brook on stones in order to continue on the trail to the base of the lower part of the falls.

The cache, a small lock n' lock, is located off-trail on the right (south) side of the trail  in the area between the brook and the falls.   BYOP. Please replace the camo after returning the container to its location.

When looking at the falls, be cautious if you are considering going up the ledges to see the upper falls.   A scramble up slippery rock slabs is required to reach the base of the main upper waterfall.
