Clementine’s Workout is the third cache in a series we are placing to honor our beloved pet cockatiels.
Clementine was the last of the babies raised by our pair of cockatiels, Sydney and Chloe, before their retirement from the reproduction business. When Chloe laid this set of eggs, we had a feeling that this would be the last clutch, so we decided to keep the babies and add them to our flock.
Clementine was a very pretty little lutino cockatiel, but she didn’t have the cuddliest of personalities. For the most part, she wanted to be left alone, and spent most of her time hanging out with her father, Sydney. Any attempts to pet her or pick her up by her human parents would result in fearsome snarls and hissing. When she was a baby, her veterinarian called her “pudgy,” but she grew into her body and turned into a very attractive young lady. We always told her that it was a good thing that she was so beautiful!
Even though she wasn’t very friendly, she kept us amused with her antics. She and her father would work together to pull the paper out of the bottom of the cage and shred it, generally making a mess of things. She entertained us for sixteen years, when her life was cut short by one of the tragic accidents that can beset small birds. We got up one morning to find that she had passed away unexpectedly from a fall overnight.
Clementine’s Workout is a micro-sized container hidden near a Virginia Beach recreation center, since her vet thought she needed some exercise. Walk, run, or ride a bike to ground zero, or just park and grab in honor of our little pet cockatiel. Bring a pen, since the cache doesn’t have room for a writing instrument. A tool for extricating the log might also be helpful. Congratulations to Lacey1961 for FTF honors. Enjoy the hunt!
