The event will run from 6:30 to 8pm. Meet up at the campus cafe, in Building H, round to the left. It's signposted and there are maps in the parking areas! Permits not needed as it's after 5.30pm. I've selected the "night cache" attribute, even though it will probably be more like dusk than night.
At the School of Information and Business Analytics we want to give students an experience of working together. Our Warrnambool residential brings students together for course work and industry experience.
One aspect of that is to show how the business information systems they learn about can also be used for fun. The best fun you can have with geographic information systems is Geocaching.
Our aim is to have a gathering for students to gain an understanding and learn about the intricacies of Geocaching.
We would like to have some cachers (other than John from jinkyandjohn) come along to talk about Geocaching
- why you like Geocaching
- your favourite cache
- hints for finding caches
- bring your GPS and praise it, but no brand wars please! (Besides it's daylight savings so caching after the session is over is always on the cards!)
- must have gear for those tricky caches
Show some students that there's more to geographic information systems than plotting traffic jams and water mains, and that they don't know everything!
There will be the usual FTF draw, with a Deakin souvenir for the FTF.
