L'aspra morfologia dei due "Sassoni", che contrasta con l'ondulato paesaggio circostante, deriva dalla composizione trachitica della roccia di cui sono costituiti. La trachite è una roccia ignea che si forma dal raffreddamento di un magma molto viscoso che tende a solidificare sul posto (anzichè defluire come una colata di lava), formando domi e cupole in prossimità della superficie. Nel corso del tempo l'erosione naturale rimuove gli strati superficiali facendo emergere la massa rocciosa ormai solidificata. La collocazione strategica delle due rupi rocciose che si ergono a guardia delle colline circostanti non dovette passare inosservate alle antiche genti del luogo, se ritrovamenti di manufatti sono documentati dal neolitico fino al medioevo. Su entrambi i rilievi sono presenti ruderi di abitazioni e fortificazioni. In tempi recenti le rupi sono state utilizzate come palestra per gli alpinisti romani o come set cinematografici.
Percorrendo la strada SP2C, le coordinate iniziali conducono all'entrata del borgo non a caso chiamato "Il Sasso" poichè sovrastato da una rupe rocciosa anch'essa utilizzata qualche anno fa come palestra di arrampicata. Qui sono ubicati gli indizi per completare le coordinate delle due cache.
1) GC Sassone orientale (stage 2): Lat: N 42° x.yyz' ; Long: E 12° k.zkj' Descrizione cache: contenitore di plastica con tappo azzurro; all'interno sono presenti: il logbook e alcuni cristalli (m). 
2) CG Sassone occidentale (Final Location): Lat: N 42° x.ymw' ; Long: E 12° k.wtz' Descrizione cache: contenitore di plastica con tappo azzurro; all'interno sono presenti: il logbook e quattro cristalli di cui uno per il FTF a sua scelta.
Per trovare le incognite entrare nel borgo dall'ingresso principale e prestare attenzione ai numeri civici a sinistra e a destra (anche quelli parzialmente coperti dalla vegetazione):
x= primo numero a sinistra; y= x+j; z= k+j; k= primo numero a destra; j= quinto numero a sinistra; w= quarto numero a sinistra; t= j+m.
m= numero di cristalli dentro la prima cache (GC Sassone orientale)
Per raggiungere i "Sassoni di Furbara" conviene parcheggiare la macchina sulla piazzola a lato della strada SP2C (waypoint P1), entrare dal cancello poco distante (richiudere per la presenza di bestiame al pascolo), nel dubbio chiedere il permesso al proprietario. Scendere attraverso il campo in direzione dei due "Sassoni". Non semplice potrebbe essere l'attraversamento del fosso a causa della fitta vegetazione e per l'assenza di una traccia ben evidente. La presenza di recinzioni rende comunque il percorso obbligato. Dirigersi quindi verso il basso in direzione del boschetto a sinistra del fosso (attenzione! abbastanza profondo, superare solo all'interno di esso) cercando il passaggio più logico e semplice attraverso la fitta vegetazione (waypoint R1). Superato il fosso (destra orografica), dirigersi verso la sella che separa le due rupi, preceduta da un muretto di pietre a secco.
Salita alla cima orientale. Sono possibili due percorsi: il primo inizia dalla sella (waypoint T1) seguendo le tracce nel bosco di un sentiero non sempre evidente; il secondo percorso inizia dal versante diametralmente opposto alla sella, raggiungibile camminando lungo il versante Sud alla base del "Sassone" orientale. Si può quindi decidere di salire da una parte e scendere dall'altra.
Salita alla cima occidentale. L'inizio della salita è indicato da un bollo + freccia blu (waypoint T2) e potrebbe richiedere qualche elementare passaggio di arrampicata con le mani. Esistono comunque percorsi alternativi a piedi che conducono fin quasi alla cima. Arrivati in cima, si può ammirare il panorama che spazia a 360° fino al mare. Scendere dallo stesso percorso dell'andata.
The rough morphology of the two "Sassoni", which contrasts with the surrounding hilly landscape, comes from their trachytic composition of the rock. The trachyte is an igneous rock generated by the cooling of a very viscous magma that solidifies "in situ" (rather than as a lava flow), forming domes near the surface. Over time, the natural erosion removes the surface layers by surfacing the solid rock. The strategic location of the two rocks was not unnoticed by the ancient people, whether several artifacts are documented from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. On both mountains there are the ruins of houses and fortifications of various ages. In more recent times the rocks were used as gym for climbers or as movie sets.
Drive along the road SP2C. The starting coordinates lead to the gate of the borough, called "The Rock" because it is dominated by a rocky cliff used few years ago as climbing gym. Here are located the indications to complete the coordinates of the two caches.
1) GC eastern Sassone (stage 2): Lat: N 42° x.yyz ; Long: E 12° k.zkj;
Cache description: plastic container with blue cap; inside there are: the logbook and some crystals (m).
2) GC western Sassone (Final location): Lat: N 42° x.ymw ; Long: E 12° k.wtz;
Cache description: plastic container with blue cap; inside there are: the logbook and four crystals, one for FTF (at his choice).
To find the unknowns go in the boroung by the main gate and look at the house numbers left and right (including those partially covered by vegetation):
x= 1st number on the left; y= x + j; z= k + j; k= 1st number to the right; j= 5th number on the left; w= 4th number to the left; t= j + m.

To reach the "Sassoni" you can park the car at the side of the road SP2C (waypoint P1), enter the gate not far (close to the presence of livestock grazing), in the doubt ask the permission to the landowner. Go down across the field towards the two "Rocks". Not simple could be the gully passage due to the dense vegetation and not evident track. However, the presence of fences makes the path obligatory. Then go down towards the thicket to the left bank of the gully (generally dry, be careful, quite deep, pass just inside it), looking for the most logical and easy passage through the thicket (waypoint R1). After the gully passage (right bank), go up towards the pass separating the two rocks, preceded by a dry stones wall. Ascent to the eastern "Sassone": there are two possible paths: the first one starts from the pass (waypoint T1) by following a path (not always obvious) in the woods; the second one starts from the opposite side to the pass, by walking along the South side. You can choose one of them to go up or down. Ascent to the western "Sassone": the start point is indicated by a sign + arrow blue (waypoint T2) and may need a few elementary step of climbing with hands. However, there are always alternative paths on foot. At the summit, you can enjoy the landscape until the sea. Go down by the same path.
