Geocache Description:

The feature of this cache is to take you on a quiet stroll (in your car stroll) down a pleasant country road named Cow Path 40.

The charm of this road is a couple views as well as some old farmhouses, open pastures and ponds and of course, the name. You will also see some amazing stonewalls that seem to run forever! Foliage time is really pretty.

Not far from the cache there is the old Phelps Cemetery on Thompson Hill. Worth checking out.

You have to come from Ames Hill Rd to travel down Cow Path 40. It becomes Hale Road about 2 tenths of a mile before you reach the cache.

Interesting Fact: You will not see the sign for Cow Path 40 off Ames Hill Rd. The town put up a sign a couple times and someone stole them each time. So they said the heck with it! You might occasionally see a home made sign.

Update Note: At present there is a new sign. This one says " C. P. 40". Probably not as attractive to sign stealers.

Congratulations to GoRaw4U on the FTF!
