Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden near the junction of the Appalachian Trail and the Wolfboro Road. This historic road was proposed in 1770 and first laid out in 1772 for the convenience of Governor John Wentworth in traveling across the Province of New Hampshire from his summer home in Wolfeboro to Hanover for the 1772 Commencement Ceremony at Dartmouth College. The first compass survey of the part in Hanover was not recorded until 1797.

The markings several different markings on the surrounding trees. Yellow; for the Appalachian Trail Corridor Boundary, Blue; for a trail (this time the Wolfboro Hanover Trail) that meets the Appalachian Trail, Tiger Striped (black and orange); the older Dartmouth Outing Club trail markings, and white;  for the Appalachian trail. You may also notice and small wooden sign with the letters “WHT” for the Wolfboro Hanover Trail.

Please bring your own writing implement and replace the cache as found. Be careful of your fingers.
