A small container not far off a back road in Rochester Gap.
So while I was out celebrating the last day of trout season with my old fishing buddy 0-in we decided to look around for a good spot for a cache. Since the fishing was not so good and we couldn’t find worms we ended up checking out a bunch of back roads. As we passed this one 0-in mention that around 30 years ago he used to haunt this area. He kept some pigs at a place where some friends lived and that they had a sauna on a small pond. Apparently they used to cut a hole in the ice and after saunatizing a bit they would run out and jump in the freezing water. Well we checked the road out but he did not find anything that looked familiar. So we went back to a spot with a nice view of the mountains to the west. While we were wandering around looking for a nice hiding spot I noticed something shining in the woods. Upon further investigation, a pond and then…the remnants of the sauna. There was no sign of the house though and 0-in lamented how much things change in 30 years. You don’t have to go that far to find the cache but it is a neat little spot.
