Lake Connewarre 2 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

deshut: One of my very early caches, but it has always needed periodical maintenance, for a variety of reasons. Also the road down the hill is very rough, and becomes worse in winter.

Geocache Description:

Lake Connewarre was visited by Eugene von Guerard, the 19th century landscape artist.  His sketchbook contains, among other things, a drawing of a platypus in this area.  But the lake is saline now.

The cache is at the end of Brinsmead's Lane, which is accessed from the Bellarine Highway after passing through Leopold. The road down to the car park on the shore of the lake needs to be taken carefully.
