The M & M trail leaves Old Mountain Road and heads up quickly past a Mt.Holyoke College outdoor camp building and a power line to the summit of Mt. Holyoke. As you head along the ridge you will be walking above the cliffs of Titan's Piazza with frequent views west and south.
A nice loop in good conditions in either direction (southerly provides better views as you walk) is to ascend the lower summit road and turn onto a switchback back trail just below the halfway house climbing to the M&M Trail and then proceed south descending to the power line and Old Mountain Road. The switchback trail ascends to the ridge quickly, is narrow and can be challenging in winter or wet conditions. The summit road gate parking is an easy road walk north past the base of Titan's Piazza up Old Mountain Road.
Parking is along Old Mountain Road at the signed M & M trail head or at the base of the summit road.
Exercise caution especially with dogs and children as the trail travels near the crest of the cliffs in places.
