HotPJ archived many in the great series of "Lost Christchurch" history geocaches because of the changing inner city landscape post-earthquakes. This geocache is about Allan McLean's vision to build his retirement home which would form part of his philanthropic legacy after death.
This building, no longer owned by the McLean Institute, faces an uncertain future but you are still able to visit the grounds to view what was known as McLean's Mansion at the listed coordinate.
The cache is a 400ml screw top container and is NOT in these grounds.
Use the "Lost Christchurch" website link to find:
The number of rooms = AB
The year his housekeeper retires to Waimate = 19CD
The area (sq feet) of the conservatory that grew pineapples and bananas= EFGH
Note: Checksum ABCDEFGH is 30.
I = B - D
J = G + H
K = E + D
L = F - G
The final cache can be found at
