Geocache Description:

Throughout my childhood, my Granny lived right next to Little Burstead common. As we drove down Botney Hill Road, my sisters and I would always chant 'I can see Granny's house!' long before we actually could.

As well as exploring her very large garden, we would all head out onto the common which surrounded her house. Granny would walk her red setter and we'd play hide and seek in the bracken. She always had a secret stash of boxed butterscotch that came wrapped in silver paper, and it was her that taught me to play cards games like rummy and whist when I'd sleep over sometimes.

This cache is to remind me of many wonderful times spent with my Granny. Feel free to share some memories of your own grandparents, or someone else who was special to you.

**************************************************************************** This is a Letterbox cache. There is a stamp and ink pad inside the container which is NOT a trade item. The stamp is meant to remain in the box so that finders can record their visit.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE STAMP & INKPAD AS THIS WILL SPOIL THE VISIT FOR OTHERS.
Once you've finished stamping and logging, be sure the stamp and ink pad remain in the letterbox container itself and replace it as you would hope to find it.

****************************************************************************

Please take care when walking along the road between caches as the verge is very narrow in places. I have included a trail marker to show the start of the bridleway for those walking clockwise round the loop. This bridleway is well used and can be very uneven and muddy in places. The terrain rating reflects this.
