The park's name represents the place Lewis and Clark came to, the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers, and supposedly took a celestial observation for part of their map making. This bearing has recently been found and maybe you could be the one to show us. It has also been recently learned that they might have met a canoe party from Canada for supplies.
All of this will be discussed over cool water and bring a lunch, but for the special day venders will be allowed into the park.
The ranger has assured us there's quite a crowd here for free day and it is a great time for us to introduce folks to Geocaching. We will have educational materials, a small tent, free water, and feature a short hike with examples of caches in the park.
So step out to the park for the day, bring a meal, the family and some fishing poles and enjoy some time with your caching friends.
This event is sponsored by Washington State Geocaching Association. If you are a geocacher in the state of Washington, please consider joining WSGA. See the WSGA website for details. |
