Geocache Description:

A travel adventure like no other is about to depart, and you are lucky enough to have a a ticket.

A week long trip around the world awaits you. It all starts here, at your local Grand Rapids Airport. 0600 hours, you arrive at Grand Rapids Airport. You board a CRJ-200, bound for Chicago. The first leg of your adventure. You push from your gate, and the trip has begun. It's a weird day, and there's no breeze coming from the west. The captain taxis out to the Westbound runway "G6-LEFT" After a short flight, you come down on Chicago O'Hare's Longest Runway, "1B-Left".

You have a short layover, before you can head to your next destination. You grab a coffee in the terminal, and head through the underground tunnels to your terminal. You arrive at your gate with plenty of time to spare. You hit the restroom, and even have enough time to check your e-mail, and send your significant other a nice message. Time to board, you load up on a Boeing 737-800, bound for Los Angeles, you head out on the same runway, and you are airborne in no time. At cruising altitude, an in flight movie begins, it's boring, but hey, at least it passes the time. A soda and some peanuts fail to serve as adequate nutrition. You hit some chop over Denver, but it's gone just as quick as it came. Before you know it, you're on final decent into Los Angeles. You put down on LAX's longest runway "2C-Right". You taxi to the gate, and a ready to stretch your legs. It's a bit warmer in Los Angeles than it was in Grand Rapids. You've got quite a layover, and decide to head out to the LAX Travel Bug Hotel to make a swap. You head to the international terminal with plenty of time to spare. You grab a nice meal at the in-terminal steakhouse.

After dinner, you shoot a message back home letting them know you made it to California without trouble before boarding a Boeing 777 headed for Sydney, Australia. You quickly doze off, as jet lag begins to set in. You sleep through almost all of the 15 hour flight, and before you know it, you're on final approach into Sydney. The pilot puts you down flawlessly on Sydney's longest runway, "1H-Right". You're staying in Sydney for the night, and check into your hotel and somehow still have no energy left, so you pass out for the night.

The next morning, you board an Airbus A340 for Shangai Pudong International. You're planning on being wide awake for the entire 10 hour flight. There's a crying baby, and someone who keeps passing gas. You're miserable. But your noise-cancelling headphones tune out most of it. Somehow, you doze off, and don't wake up until the plane touches down. To your surprise, it's monsoon season, and it's pouring. However, you are able to discern that you must have come down on Pudong's longest runway, "A5-Right". Lucky for you, there's no plane change here. Some passengers get off, some new ones get on. The food is replenished, the fuel topped off, and the crew swapped out. Before you know it, you're pushing from the gate, and heading to London. Lucky you, this leg is only around 8 hours. You've never been to London, so you're pretty excited. There's lots of chop going over Europe, but lucky for you, the plane is only about half full. You've got a whole row to yourself. You grab a pillow from the overhead bin, and stretch across the 4 seats in your row, and pass out. You miss dinner, and you sleep through the entire 11 hour flight. You only awake when the pilot comes on with the gate assignments and weather report for London. Before you know it, you're on the ground at London Heathrow on the longest runway "F-Left"

You spend a few days on the ground, picking up some great local caches, and meeting some more Americans at a few local geo-events. Unfortunately, your trip is coming to an end. You load up a new state of the art Boeing 747-800. You're exhausted, but you can't stop playing on the video game console built into the seat back in front of you. But you can't fight it, it's a 13 hour flight, and you know your need your beauty sleep. You wake up for the lunch service, and have a mediocre ham sandwich and some potato chips. You go back to the video game console, and before you know it, the flight is almost over. You quickly recognize the New York City skyline. The pilot points out a few points of the local landmarks before touching down on JFK's shortest concrete runway, "2E-RIGHT". You've touched down around dinner time, and your flight home isn't until the next morning. You check into your hotel, but you can't pass up all the cool urban caches in Queens. After logging a few smileys, and trading a few geocoins and travelbugs, you hit the hay.

Your flight home leaves early, around 0800, and you oversleep. You can't even grab breakfast on your way out of your hotel. Lucky for you, the cab driver is one of the best in the city, and gets you to JFK in no time. It's a Saturday, so the airport isn't at max capacity, and you make it to your gate in time. You let the family know you're almost home, and let them know what time to pick you up at GRR. You're crammed in a Boeing 717 like a sardine. The plane is completely full, something about all the people going to Grand Rapids to see all of MikeyMac's cool caches. After soft drinks and pretzels, you're going down just as fast as you went up. The hour and a half flight seems to have flown by in a heartbeat, just like your vacation. You land coming into the weather, and using Gerald Ford's main runway, "D-right". You get out of the terminal, and find your car in long-term parking. Then you remember, the Up, Up, and Away mystery cache! It's right on your way out of the airport! How can you pass it up? What's that? There's no FTF yet!? Oh MAN!
